I would like to start off by say what a BLAST today was. The weather was perfect... there was 60% chance of rain and we didn't get a drop. I think you can start calling me Mr. Sunshine!

Thanks to all the guys that came out today... I don't think I heard one person say that they wished that they were somewhere else.

How often to you get to shoot real steel M1 Garand, M1 carbine, Kar98 and a MG34!

I would like to thank Clint and the rest of the people at the East Elgin Sportsman Club. Clint, thanks for the use of your weapons and the donation of the ammo we spent! It was awsome... I'm hooked... I will be getting my PAL for sure.

As always it was great to hear how neat the 30 Cal was... it makes all the work that went into it worth while. Had some feeding issues at first and then a dead battery but once that was taken care of it fired very well. Still need to work on the hopup and at this stage I'm happy with it. Now to just fix the handle that one kid broke that hundreds of kids over a three year span couldn't!

Now... get those pictures and videos posted ASAP.

Awsome day. Thanks to Clint and the Sportsman Club for having us again. Seeing some of the members shoot real steel for the first time was great! I thought that Souk's head was going to explode after shooting the M1 Garand. I had a "Blast" and I will be looking into getting my PAL. Just what I need a new outlet to blow my money on. Laughing

And we can't forget John "One Shot" Foever Kaos...

John fires the Kar98, that he drooled so much over, and shouts... "damn that hurt!"

RO: "Did you want to stand for your next shot? It's easier."

John: "No, I'm done."

Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

Fracking suuuhweeeet time.

Shoulder is sore, douced in muscle relaxant and a heating pad.

Really wish I got to shoot the MG-34 or .30 cal, but alas.

REALLY look forward to next event, or a gun shoot open house I will be keeping my eyes open for one.

Thanks to Clint for housing us and supply us with such goodies.
Too bad others missed it.

Great event that is for sure!

My video/pics will be up tomorrow, there is a fair few so they will need to upload over night.

PFFT, the only reason I am "One shot" is due to Souk, bastard stole the last rounds on the MG!
P.S - I have video of that event, that is not how it went!! Smile

Shooting the Garand and MG34 was awesome! Showcasing the Units was rewarding given the interest the exhibit generated. The promotion ceremony was a nice touch as well - Congratulations Josh.

Had a great time fellas!

Thanks.

Let us also not forget how John's girlfriend showed him up by firing the M1 Carbine a few times as well. John; I think you should give her your uniform. Wear a skirt next time. It will still be historically accurate to wear a skirt; I believe most Germans had a penchant for crossdressing anyways.

I will be getting my PAL within the next month; and hopefully an Enfield shortly thereafter. Real Steel is an addiction.

My absolute favorite moment of the day was every time I squeezed the trigger on the K98 Mauser. That is such an awesome weapon.

I picked up all my Airborne badging, a Beret, and XL braces at the booth there. That was a really great find for me. Especially considering the price I paid for them!

Thanks to Clint and the rest of the staff there who made this possible. Guys; you have gotton me hooked. I genuinely appreciate this rare opportunity.

Thanks also to Lee for setting up and orgagnising our display as well as he did. I think you did a good job of having us present ourselves in an orderly and desireable fashion. I heard several people commenting on the overall appeal of us and our booth.

Finally, thanks to the rest of you guys who showed up for making the day as enjoyable as it was. I felt like part of the group (despite being the only Brit in a crowd of Yanks and Krauts). I had a great time with you guys.

Alec

I'm betting there is more, but that is all for now.

P.S - There are other reasons as to why I did not shoot any more that day, personal reasons.
Boy I would have loved to but alas.

I've seemed to be getting a bit too much razzing about it for my taste lately.

So please, cut down.
Recently there has been a bit much...
