2010 Southern Ontario Military Muster - Aug. 14th & 15th

This is a living history event so this is a Level 1 event. That means that your uniform and gear have to be at least 95% and your weapon at 100%.

This event was posted as an FYI by Crash, and Backspasm did some ground work (thanks guys), but I thought that I would post an official thread. So book your time off and sign up.

This is for both the Allies and Axis - It would be nice to get some Germans out to these events this year!

If your kit isn't 100% ask and I'm sure we can help to gear you up to get to at 95%.

If you can't come for both days (which is the preferred) then come down for at least one of them. Make sure you state the days you will be coming. Oh by the way setup is on the Friday Aug. 13th, it would be nice to have some help so let me know if you can also help with the setup. Don't worry you will not be required to dig a fox hole.

Also note that I have signed us up on their web site and said that we will have 6 - 8 members attending.

Thanks for the posting Lee.

For you axis guys...some of the 115th Panzer Genadiers have signed up already...and word is some very cool stuff will be there for you to play with. The area is a perfect venue. A tree line and open field with a road so similar to France beyond the Bocage it is scary. All this with a great view for the spectators. There will be a camera crew there so get your game face on. I am looking forward to meeting each and every one of you. We all have the same broken chromosone.

Remember if you plan on hitching a ride with the convoy you gotta let me know well a head of time....

cheers

I'm down for the weekend. Possibly be there on Friday night, depending on the family, but I'd prefer that than an early start on Saturday.

Alright the first year it was because of the clay but after that it was so the kids could get in and out easier. But have you noticed that you Brits never once picked up a shovel. It's always tea time with you guys! Razz

That's why we have you Americans, old chap. And a jolly passable example of digging you did, I'm sure the children were thrilled!

Milk & sugar?

OY, that's what you bloody yanks are good for, as the little buggers had a grande time up to their bollux in the muckedy muck of that hole.

In for the same time as the Sgt as per usual Very Happy

Although I might also be interested in meeting up with the convoy if it passes close to me in/close to Toronto for some reason. Who wouldn't want to ride in a Bren carrier on the highway?

Also just to remind everyone of the dance on Saturday night, so bring a dress uniform if you have one, if you are not married that is Smile

Sorry Backspasm,

The only rides will be softskin wheeled rigs....the carriers will be trailered.
After a trip down the highway you would have to stop are remove a link in the track for all the wear from the pavement...believe me they do wear...

cheers

I think a willies jeep, or 2.5 ton truck would be fine as well Wink Anything is a softer ride than the TTC I am sure.

Ok Backspasm,

Tell you what, you come prepared and you'll get a more than a ride in a carrier, perhaps a Sexton or Fox, hell even my CMP...gotta driver's license? Know how to double double...and I don't mean Timmies, I mean clutching in and out with left hand shifting.

cheers

I was able to understand Ian's much easier then Glynn's. I had to read Glynn's three times to make it out.

Matt, always good to have you along 1st Sgt!
