I just recieved a heads up on an event, in Oshawa...

Oshawa Tank Museum at the Oshawa Airport

June 7th, 8th, 9th. All day Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Get there when you can.

You can come for all three days, which would be good, or just one if you like.

There will be tenting overnight both nights. WW2 style. Displays will be welcome.

For those planning to attend and wishing to set up I've been advised that some are heading there for just after lunch. There will be museum people available and on the ground then.

I would say yes to our own blanks.

As far as food I don’t know. I am sure the BBQ will be operating full time for burgers and dogs.

There are restaurants just down the street if you don’t want to cook your own.

There will be a re-enactment battle if we get enough guys to come. It is up to us to organize and stage. There will be a couple of carriers to add to it
as well as an armoured car. We have the area by the Quonset hut to play in and we can go as long as we like. This will be Saturday. No harm in reinforcements
arriving late I don’t think for those who live far away. I hope we get enough axis troops to make it worthwhile.

****As this is a Living History Event impressions have to be 95% +

If you are going to attend please sign up below with your impression, for those with SASR impressions (you know who you are) there is that as well.

Not that I am aware of... we are being asked to attend to provide re-enactors and possibly a battle sequence if we have the bodies.

May be hard to sell to management, that is the weekend after we return from Italy, she has been away for 3 months, I am fully expecting a substantial update to the " honeydo" list

Will try to make it for Saturday,

AXIS,

Noob question, as this will be my first living history event: What are your recommendations in terms of wearing original webbing? Should I pick up a repro set so my original (mint) gear doesn't get destroyed?

I take it you mean Brit P37? Unless it's already in a perilous state, I'd say go for it. It is not at all rare, yet, and the stuff is virtually indestructible provided you don't let it get totally impregnated with dirt and oil. Blanco helps a lot in that regard. In any case, public display causes nowhere near as much wear and tear as tactical events, primarily you're just doing show and tell for the punters.

Agreed... I and others wear original war dated kit.
